Q&A: Captain of the dance team wants to fly

EDITOR’S NOTE: Each week The Volante sports staff will interview a member of the USD athletic community and ask them off the wall questions. Enjoy the hilarity.

Brianna Eslick is the captain of the Unversity of South Dakota dance team. Eslick is a senior majoring in nursing and psychology.

Emma Murray: If you could be a man for one day what would you do?

Brianna Eslick: I would not wear a shirt because it’s acceptable to do that as a man. I’d probably play sports not wearing a shirt because it’s acceptable.

EM: What is your lucky number and why?

BE: Six and that’s been my lucky number my whole life. That’s the day of the month I’m born on.

EM: If you won the lottery what would you do first?

BE: Take a trip to Las Vegas because I’ve been wanting to do that for a while, since I’ve turned 21 and then I’d pay off my student loans.

EM: What’s the biggest thing you miss about being a kid?

BE: One of the things I miss most was being able to eat whatever you want and not have to worry about it being healthy because you could eat all the junk food you want and it wouldn’t affect you.

EM: What is your most prized possession?

BE: My two dogs. They’re just like my babies. I love them. When I lose them, it’s probably going to be the worst day ever. I’ve had them for a long time. They’re like my favorite things to go home to.

EM: Is there one song you could listen to forever?

BE: I love the song “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz. That’s a good one.  I could listen to it forever.

EM: If you were stranded on a desert island with only one kind of food, what food would it be?

BE: Macaroni and cheese. It’s definitely my favorite food and I eat it probably at least once a week.

EM: If you could have any super power what would it be?

BE: Definitely flying. I could get to different places easily and I don’t like flying (in airplanes) so I think if I could do it on my own it’d be a lot easier.

EM: What Disney character are you most like?

BE: Finding Nemo’s dad (Marlin) because I worry a lot sometimes.

EM: If you were a flavor of ice cream, which would you be?

BE: Birthday cake flavored ice cream from Cold Stone because it’s delicious and sweet, just like me.

EM: If you could be a member of any band, which one would it be and what would you do?

BE: N*Sync for sure. I’d be their backup dancer.

EM: If you could change one event in history, what would you change?

BE: The Holocaust because it was such a tragic event and everyone knows what happened, and it’s still affecting people.

EM: If you could rename South Dakota, what would you call it?

BE: Coyotes Rule, because we don’t like the Jackrabbits.
