New class twirls into Wellness Center

College may seem a little late to pick up ballet but that isn’t stopping Maddison Kissick from starting a new class.

The lessons are being offered at the Wellness Center Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. Kissick, a 24-year-old graduate student, teaches the class and it is for anyone interested in learning ballet, from beginner to expert.

“I’m looking forward to teaching this class very much,” Kissick said.

Kissick started dancing when she was five years old and taught at the Main Stage Ballet & Dance Academy in Sioux Falls for eight years until 2010.

“I’ve taught little, itty bitty three-year-old ballet all the way up to adult ballet,” Kissick said. “I did ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical, modern — basically anything that we offered, I either took a class or taught
