USD to play ESPN Bracketbuster

The University of South Dakota will be hosting its first ever ESPN Bracketbuster game February 18 as part of the recently announced Coyote Men’s Basketball 2011-2012 season.

The Bracketbuster game is an ESPN filmed game that provides basketball programs the opportunity to play quality non-conference opponents three weeks prior to Selection Sunday.

The Coyote’s opponent and time of the game will be determined by ESPN in January.

Also during the season, USD will travel to Brookings on January 12 to take on in-state rival South Dakota State. The Coyotes will once again face off against SDSU when the Jackrabbits come to Vermillion on February 9.

The Coyotes will also be tested throughout the year playing against two 2011 NCAA tournament teams Oakland and Morehead State, as well as 2011 NIT qualifier Nebraska.

The Coyotes will play a full 18-game Summit League Conference schedule but will not be eligible for the Summit League Championship Tournament until the 2012-2013 season.
