COLUMN: Thefts troubling at Coyote Village

Over the last couple of weeks, the residence of Coyote Village had some interesting issues with the disappearance of laundry.

Since the new school year started, residents of Coyote Village have reported four thefts, all of what were related to the disappearance of laundry from the laundry room. In the past few weeks this is the only thing residents are discussing and gossiping about. They decided to sit in the laundry room until their belongings are washed in order to make sure that nothing will disappear again. These curious vanishing of the things made a couple of girls upset whose stuff disappeared, but also other residents of this hall. For now, no one is sure why only girl’s stuff is missing, but it makes everyone afraid and nervous for their personal belongings.

All thefts are regularly reported to the CAs, but there wasn’t much that could be done. Security cameras were reviewed, but the thief wasn’t caught. There were too many people going in and out of the laundry room, which made it difficult to see who it was.

Even though in the previous couple of days no one said anything more about missing things nor instances of this happening again, no one feels very safe when leaving their things in the laundry room.

Whether these were just strange circumstances, student jokes or someone needed a woman’s wardrobe remains to be determined. One thing is for sure now; students are increasingly carrying things to their homes to do their laundry where they think it’s the safest. For those who live far away, they can just sit in the laundry room every time, or just hope that they will be the lucky ones who still have their their things after the machine finishes its cycle.

The interesting part is that none of the CAs posted or informed anyone about these situations. There are still no precautions about previous events, but everything starts with a whisper and everybody loves to talk the news got spread out, so many residents are now aware of the problem in the popular hall.

This definitely makes everyone wonder how safe they are in their halls, and if there is a person who tries to implement intolerance, or are there more people out there who have nothing better to do but to steal other people’s things. Will the sticky fingers be sticky again? It is not sure, and unfortunately, no one can be responsible for your things except yourself. Who ever took something that didn’t belong to him or her I hope they will have fun with someone else’s socks and spandex, while it lasts.
