Q & A: Harrington hungry for the Big Dance

Jasen Robbennolt: What is your major?

Polly Harrington: I am an Accounting Major.

JR: How long have you been playing basketball?

PH: I’ve been playing basketball since I was in the third grade.

JR: What is your favorite athletic brand?

PH: Nike. They have some comfy stuff.

JR: What is your greatest athletic accomplishment?

PH: Going to the state championship during my sophomore year in high school and going to the Sweet 16 my freshmen year in college at Louisville.

JR: What would you like to accomplish before the end of your college career?

PH: I would like to get deeper into the NCAA Tournament and win a conference championship.

JR: Who is your current role model?

PH: My older sister.

JR: Do you have a certain quote that is important to you?

PH: I always like to say ‘leave everything in God’s hands.’

JR: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

PH: Chocolate. Maybe cookie dough, too.

JR: What other hobbies do you have besides basketball?

PH: When you’re in college there aren’t too many, but I would say hanging out with my teammates.

JR: Are there any other sports that you are good at?

PH: I’m pretty good at volleyball.

JR: If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?

PH: Italy, because I have never been overseas and I think it would be beautiful there.

JR: What is your favorite thing about the University of South Dakota?

PH: The community. It is small, there is a lot of support here, and everyone is really nice.

JR: Why did you decide to come to the University of South Dakota?

PH: The women’s program here has been exceptional these past few years and I wanted to be a part of something that was growing.

Also, there is a great business school here since my major is accounting.

JR: Do you have any pregame rituals?

PH: I pray before every game.

JR: What is your favorite NBA team and WNBA team?

PH: The Miami Heat and the Phoenix Mercury.
