CMC to host SGA presidential debate Feb. 20

The Cross Media Council is hosting their annual Student Government Association presidential debate tonight.

The debate will begin at 7 p.m. in the Al Neuharth Media Center’s conference room and will last an hour.

Organized by the University of South Dakota’s student media, the event will feature all registered presidential and vice presidential candidates as of Feb. 18.

Questions will be chosen by the CMC, but students are encouraged to tweet questions any time before or during the debate with the hashtag: #usdsga13.

There will also be time set apart near the end of the debate for students to ask questions directly to the candidates.

Audience members will not be allowed to bring posters, visual aids, banners, props or signs. Violators of this rule who do not relinquish these items will be asked to leave.

For anyone unable to attend the event, the debate will be broadcast live on Midcontinent Cable Channel 21 and KAOR 91.1 FM, with a live stream available at Ustream.tv/channel/coyotenews.

There will also be a live chat available on the website.

Volante staffers will also be live tweeting from the event, and will provide a wrap-up at the conclusion of the debate. Students are encouraged to stay after the debate to share their reactions.
