THE RANT

The Rant

Dear fellow Facebook users,

On campus and in the United States, we have the right to freedom of expression, meaning we are allowed our own opinions. We can express it any way we want, and more often than not, students post their opinions on Facebook.

Because of this right, many like to share photos expressing their faith, beliefs and overall morals.

But do we really have to say that a person believes the opposite if they do not share a photo?

A person who does not share a photo of a cross does not make them an atheist, or if a person who doesn’t share a photo of a hungry child does not make them someone who is against saving hungry children.

These allegations are ridiculous, and should not define someone’s character. Students should be encouraged to express themselves, however, not be penalized for keeping their opinions to themselves.
