The Rant: Graduation fears placed in spotlight

The Rant

Dear fellow seniors,

It’s crunch time.

With just a few weeks to the end of the semester, that means we have just a little over five months until we have to face the real world. And quite frankly, I’m not ready for it.

Sure, I’ve already started searching for jobs, but it’s not like I can apply yet because I still have to finish a whole semester of school. But I’m also barely paying attention to my classes. Yes, I get all the homework done and take notes in each class, but I’m doing the bare minimum to ensure I get A’s and B’s.

It’s like I’m stuck in this weird spot of not being able to plan my future while not actually really wanting to plan my future.

With only one or two of my good friends graduating, I feel like I’m the only one heading out into the real world, when truthfully, I’d really rather stay in my little college bubble that is Vermillion for at least one more year.

Sincerely,

Kayla Prasek
