Make your mark on USD

Welcome to the pack, you’re officially a coyote!

The next four years at the University of South Dakota will go quickly. You’ll meet new people, learn new things and experience new adventures.

The Volante is here to help you through your first year. In this issue you’ll find a letter from the President of USD, tips on how to deal with living in the dorms, a handy 2014-15 news at USD recap and advice from our staff on how to deal with some situations you may encounter at college.

The Volante will also be your go-to source for campus and local news that affects you on a daily basis throughout the year. At The Volante we strive to be the first to report relevant news in an accurate and timely manner to you. From videos and blogs to hard hitting news stories, you’ll be able to find the most up-to-date news on our mobile friendly website at volanteonline.com and by following us on Twitter and liking us on Facebook.

One important bit of information to remember as you start your college adventure is that college is a blank slate. You can either be the same person you were in high school or you can reinvent yourself. You can delve into new areas of study that may interest you or you can specialize in a field of study right away. You can travel and study abroad through USD, join a campus organization or volunteer to do service work within the United States.

The choice is yours.

Whatever you decide to do here, you’ll have an entire campus of professors, faculty, staff and students rooting you on.
