Faulkton Residents To Get Chance To Vote On School Upgrade

FAULKTON, S.D. (AP) — School board members in Faulkton have agreed to schedule a public vote on a proposed school upgrade project.

Tentative plans call for a new building to house the elementary and high schools, administrative offices and support services. The part of the school that now houses those areas would be razed. Improvements would be made throughout the rest of the school, including the gym.

The American News reports ( ) that more than 50 people attended a school board meeting Monday to support having a public vote on the proposal.

Board members granted the request, saying they will schedule an election when renovation plans are finalized.
