People of the Pack: Syreeta Ahelegbe

Syreeta Ahelegbe is a non-traditional first-year student.

Katie McGuire: What is your major?

Syreeta Ahelegbe: I’m a nursing major. I came here to be in nursing. I just have a passion for taking care of people.

KM: You mentioned you transferred. Where from?

SA: A community college in east Grand Forks, Minn. It was called Northland Community College.

KM: How are you liking USD?

SA: Good, maybe it’s because I’m a little older. As far as class size it was a little overwhelming but as the semester went on I got used to it.

KM: Tell us something interesting about yourself.

SA: I’m married with four kids; nine, four, three and 10 months old. I like to sing. We moved here when my husband got the assistant men’s basketball coaching position.
