Man Arrested In SD For Soliciting 14-year-old Girl Online

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A 22-year-old South Dakota man has been arrested for soliciting a 14-year-old girl through Facebook.

Police in Sioux Falls say 22-year-old Christopher Paulson is in custody on a felony charge of solicitation of a minor.

Police say Paulson established his first conversation with the girl a few weeks ago. Paulson asked the girl to send him pictures, but the girl’s mom, who monitored the account, realized that the inappropriate conversation was taking place and reported the incident to police on April 19.

Detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children team began investigating the case, and law enforcement authorities arrested Paulson Thursday after he asked to meet the girl to perform a sex act.

It wasn’t immediately clear Thursday whether Paulson has an attorney who could comment on the charge.
