Pennington County Ag Producers Can Apply For Drought Aid

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Agricultural producers in Pennington County can apply for aid to cope with the drought.

The Rapid City Journal ( ) reports the Pennington County Farm Service Agency is enacting its emergency conservation program to help bolster water supplies. Through the program, producers would get cost-sharing and technical help.

According to state climatologist Dennis Todey, last month was one of the driest Aprils on record in several South Dakota towns. Three-fourths of the state was considered to be in some type of drought in the latest U.S. Drought Monitor map.
