Former Congress members to speak

The W.O. Farber Center for Civic Leadership and the University of South Dakota Political Science League will join together to bring former U.S. Representatives Stephanie Herseth Sandlin, her husband Max Sandlin and Dan Miller of Florida to USD for “Congress to Campus.”

All three former members of the House of Representatives will present on behalf of the Farber Forum, meet with faculty and students and attend select political science and government classes during the two-day “Congress to

Campus” event.

Miller and Sandlin will present the Farber Forum, “The Role of Congress in the War on Terror,” at 4 p.m. Oct. 29 at Farber Hall in Old Main, while the Sandlins will present a second Farber Forum, “Past, Present and Future of Congress,” at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 30 at Farber Hall in Old Main.

In addition to the presentations, all three former members of Congress will attend Political Science Instructor Mary Pat Bierle’s American government and political writing classes Oct. 29 and Professor William Richardson’s political theory class Oct. 30.
