Winter Storm And Blizzard Watches Posted In South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A winter storm was bearing down on South Dakota as the work week began.

The National Weather Service posted winter storm and blizzard watches for late Monday and Tuesday. Forecasters said 2-5 inches of snow is possible, with the highest amounts falling north of Interstate 90.

Winds of 30-45 mph are expected to blow the snow around and reduce visibilities. Wind gusts could reach 50 mph.

Wind chills early Wednesday are expected to be in the minus teens and 20s.
