Q&A: Tempesta plans to be ‘Green Lantern’
Freshman Jacob Tempesta swims the breaststroke for the University of South Dakota swimming and diving team from Apple Vally, Minn.
In the team’s first competition of the season, Tempesta helped the Coyotes to a second place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.70.
Tempesta also earned a sixth place finish in the 100 meter breaststroke with a time of 32.85 seconds.
Austin Ashlock: If you only had six months to live, what would you do with your time?
Jacob Tempesta: Sell all my worldly possessions, travel around the world and do whatever I wanted.
AA: If I looked in your refrigerator what would I find?
JT: Arnold Palmers,
cookies, an empty half-gallon of chocolate milk, apple cranberry juice, and a chicken and gravy frozen dinner.
AA: What is the last book you’ve read?
JT: Introduction to
Criminal Justice.
AA: What is your
favorite flavor of Mountain Dew?
JT: Mountain Dew
Voltage. I don’t like the original.
AA: If you could take the credit for creating any movie or book, what would it be?
JT: The Bible.
AA: If you could have picked your own name, what would it have been?
JT: I would have chosen Johnny Hammersticks.
AA: If you could attend either the World Series, Super Bowl, Final Four, BCS National Championship, NBA Finals or NHL Finals, which would you get tickets?
JT: I would just stay at home and watch them all for free.
AA: What is the most expensive thing you have ever purchased?
JT: The stereo system in my truck. It was about $500, but it was actually a good deal.
AA: Is there any special ability or talent you have always wished you had?
JT: I want to be able to breathe and see underwater without goggles or an oxygen tank, and to be able to swim down to deep depths.
AA: If a reality show was made about your life, what channel would you like to air it on? What would it’s title be?
JT: It would have to air on Comedy Central and it would be called “The Escapades of Jake (The Shirtless Guy)
