THE RANT: Dear student section at USD
Dear Student Section at USD,
First of all, thank you for showing up to the Illinois State football game. My personal bubble was extremely violated by all of you leaning over me in the front row, and I wasn’t even mad. Because you know what? I understand that it’s a football game, and that we as the Coyotes’ most loyal fans need to show support for our team.
You know what does make me mad? The fact that at least 80 percent of you left at halftime because we were two touchdowns behind and you were “bored.”
Not that any of you would know, but we almost won that game. And we probably could have if we would have had the student section behind us for the entire second half instead of a group of about 20 of us yelling for our Yotes.

Watching your home football team should never be boring. You should be screaming yourself hoarse by the end of the game, cheering for them at every opportunity, because that’s part of your job as a USD student. If you come to the football games, don’t just leave your team out to dry in the second half. Miracles can happen: look at the Packers-Seahawks game.
Oh, and in case any of you missed it, we are now a Division-I school. This means that we are kind of a big deal now and we’re playing some intense games against serious schools this season. Do you see SDSU’s student section leaving at halftime? No, you don’t. Don’t let your team down. They’re doing everything they can to win — we should be, too.
