Muckey, Hoffman sworn in as SGA executive team
The March 12 Student Government Association meeting saw a transition in leadership as new senators and a new executive team was sworn in.
Former SGA President Alissa VanMeeteren and Vice President DJ Smith presented a list of proposed changes for the new administration and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead SGA before formally swearing in their replacements, President Erik Muckey and Vice President Clay Hoffman.
“Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to lead you,” VanMeeteren said as she addressed the outgoing senate. “I have had a fantastic time working with you, leading you and learning from you.”
After taking their seats as new president and vice president and swearing in the new senate, Muckey and Hoffman announced they would be appointing Jacquelyn Wilson as their new office manager and Kara Fischbach as business manager. Fischbach ran against Muckey and Hoffman in the 2013 SGA election as presidential candidate Stephen Bollinger’s running mate.
Muckey said he was “humbled” as he assumed his new position as president, and announced that the first thing he and Hoffman would do in office is fill the remaining SGA seats.
