7 SD Sites Added To National Register Of Historic Places

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Another seven South Dakota properties have been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The South Dakota State Historical Society says they include: the Anderson-Ridley Ranch in the St. Onge vicinity; the Concrete Interstate Tipis of South Dakota located at rest areas along Interstates 29 and 90; the Drake Claim House near Colman; the Kudrna Homestead and Ranch near Scenic; the Murdo State Bank in Murdo; the Norbeck-Nicholson Carriage House in Redfield; and the Quamman House in Lemmon.

The National Register is the official federal list of properties identified as important in American history, architecture, archaeology, engineering and culture.

Buildings, sites, structures and objects at least 50 years old that have historical significance might qualify for the National Register.
