Mood Remains Somber In Lennox After Fatal Workplace Shooting
LENNOX, S.D. (AP) — Residents of Lennox say the community’s mood is somber after a fatal workplace shooting and likely will remain that way for a while.
Mayor Orv Wiebers tells the Argus Leader newspaper ( ) that the community of 2,100 residents near Sioux Falls is still coming to grips with the horrific event last Thursday. City Finance Officer Jerry Jones says people in small towns have a trusting nature, and Lennox is in “grieving mode.”
Authorities say truck driver Jeffrey DeZeeuw (dee-zee-OO’) of Sioux Falls got into an argument with a supervisor at ProTec over a delivery and fatally shot Jon Richter and wounded a woman before killing himself.
Richter’s funeral is scheduled for Friday afternoon at Chancellor Reformed Church.
