Pierre, Bismarck Up For Inclusion In New Monopoly Game
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The capital cities of the Dakotas have a chance to pass Go and collect $200.
Pierre and Bismarck are among 60 cities up for possible inclusion as property spaces in the new Monopoly Here and Now special U.S. edition of the popular board game. The edition, along with a World Edition featuring names of cities worldwide, is being marketed this year to celebrate Monopoly’s 80th anniversary.
Danielle Armburst with game maker Hasbro tells KCCR radio that the goal was to have at least one city from each state be considered for the U.S. edition. The public can vote for cities at .
There are 22 property sites up for grabs. Final results will be announced March 19.
