Grease Fire In Aberdeen Home Sends 1 Person To Hospital

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) — One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation after a grease fire in an Aberdeen home.

Authorities say an unattended pot of grease left on a hot stove led to smoke and heat damage throughout Cynthia Kiefer’s house Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters were able to get Kiefer’s two dogs out of the home safely. Authorities did not identify the person who was treated for smoke inhalation.

The American News reports ( ) that the Red Cross was helping Kiefer find temporary housing.
