Lehman Trikes Shutdown In Spearfish Affects About 12 Workers
SPEARFISH, S.D. (AP) — A manufacturer of motorcycle trikes is closing its facility in Spearfish.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports ( ) that Champion Investments will shut down the Lehman Trikes operation in about two months. About a dozen employees will be out of jobs, though Champion plans to keep its startup firearms manufacturing division operating in Spearfish.
Mayor Dana Boke says local officials hope Champion Arms will employ workers from Lehman Trikes “and grow and prosper in Spearfish for years to come.”
Spearfish Economic Development Executive Director Bryan Walker says that agency also will work to find new jobs for the displaced workers.
