Bill Maher Coming To SD In Sept As Part Of Dem Fundraiser
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Liberal comedian Bill Maher’s first visit to South Dakota will be a part of a fundraiser for the state’s Democratic Party in Sioux Falls in September.
Party interim Executive Director Zach Nistler said Saturday that Maher will appear at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls on Sept. 13.
He says the comedian will have a reception before the show for the party and has set aside a block of tickets for the party to use as a fundraiser.
Maher is one of several high-profile Democrats who are coming to South Dakota in the near future.
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is headlining the Democrats’ McGovern Day 2015 event on Saturday.
President Barack Obama is visiting Watertown’s Lake Area Technical Institute on May 8.
