New President For Dakota State Coming From Rhode Island
MADISON, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Board of Regents has named a new president for Dakota State University in Madison.
José-Marie Griffiths currently is vice president for academic affairs at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. She will become the 23rd president of Dakota State late this summer.
Regent Terry Baloun says Griffiths has leadership experience in higher education and a wealth of knowledge in information systems and research. Griffiths says she was attracted to DSU because of the university’s strength in high tech and informatics programs.
Griffiths was among four finalists to succeed David Borofsky, who quit unexpectedly in August.
Marysz Rames is serving as the interim president at DSU.
