1 Dead, 5 Injured In Head-on Collision West Of Bowdle
BOWDLE, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol says one person was killed and five others seriously injured in a head-on collision about 12 miles west of Bowdle.
The victim was identified as 57-year-old David Hoffman, of Colton, who was driving a 2004 Buick Century east on U.S. Highway 12 Sunday afternoon. Three passengers in his vehicle were injured.
The accident happened when a 2013 Chevy Equinox driven by 45-year-old Gwen Faehnrich, of Mobridge, attempted to pass a semi-truck. Both Faehnrich and a passenger in her car were injured.
