Annette Bosworth Trial Continues With Additional Testimony
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Testimony continues in former South Dakota political candidate Annette Bosworth’s election law violation trial, with jurors expected to hear from Bosworth directly.
The trial continued on Friday with the questioning of Italia Federici, who was briefly involved in Bosworth’s bid in the 2014 Republican U.S. Senate primary.
Bosworth is in part accused of being out of the country during a time when her petitions to get on the ballot say she was gathering signatures. Her defense says she made a mistake by listening to the advice of her former attorney and political consultant Joel Arends.
Arends testified earlier in the trial, denying he gave Bosworth legal advice that led to the election law violations.
Bosworth has pleaded not guilty to perjury and filing false documents.
