Bond For Man Charged In Rapid City Slaying Set At $1 Million
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Bond for a man charged in a fatal shooting during Memorial Day in Rapid City has been set at $1million.
The Rapid City Journal ( ) reports Seventh Circuit Magistrate Judge Todd Hyronimus set the bond for 20-year-old Sean Marshall after considering his flight risk and current unemployment. The Rapid City man has been charged with first-degree murder.
Twenty-two-year-old Charles Metcalf of Rapid City died early Monday after being shot multiple times. Marshall was arrested on drug and alcohol charges at the scene and authorities later added the murder charge.
Police say Marshall admitted to shooting Metcalf, his cousin, but also said he feared for his life because Metcalf had come at him with broken glass. Police say Metcalf was shot in the back.
It’s unclear whether Marshall has legal representation.
