Regents Choose Idaho Official To Replace Retiring Executive
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota Board of Regents has chosen Idaho education official Michael Rush to replace outgoing board Executive Director and CEO Jack Warner.
The board announced Monday that Rush will start June 29.
Rush has served since 2007 as the executive director of the Idaho State Board of Education, where his duties also included working as Idaho’s higher education executive.
South Dakota Board of Regents President Randy Schaefer says Rush has committed his working life to education and says his experience makes him a “perfect fit” for the job.
Rush says he wants to enroll and graduate more students and enhance research and economic development.
Warner is retiring to Rhode Island after six years with the board.
The regents oversee South Dakota’s six public universities and two special schools.
