South Dakota Publisher Hired To Lead Nebraska Newspaper
YORK, Neb. (AP) — A South Dakota newspaper publisher has been hired to lead a Berkshire Hathaway property in Nebraska.
Vice President Alex Skovgaard of Berkshire Hathaway Media Midwest Group announced Friday that Steven Baker has been named publisher at the York News-Times. Baker had been publisher of the Capital Journal in Pierre (peer), South Dakota, since 2008.

The York newspaper says ( ) Baker is expected to begin his new duties on June 15. His career includes stints as publisher of the Red Bluff Daily News in Northern California, publisher of a daily and weekly newspaper in southern Idaho and advertising and circulation management positions in Iowa and North Dakota.
Baker is replacing Greg Awtry in York. Awtry has become publisher of another Berkshire Hathaway newspaper in Nebraska, the Scottsbluff Star-Herald.
