Company Planning Ethanol Factory Buys Land For The Plant
ONIDA, S.D. (AP) — A company planning an ethanol plant in Sully County has purchased land in the wake of a public vote that affirmed a zoning change approved by county commissioners.
Ring Neck Energy and Feed CEO Walt Wendland tells KCCR radio that the company bought the land from Oahe Grain of Onida, and plans to begin an equity drive next month.
About 79 percent of the 672 people who voted in Tuesday’s election approved the County Commission’s decision to rezone the parcel of land to pave the way for the plant that will employ about 40 people.
Final county approval of the project is pending.
