Mayor Gill: Pierre Park Spruced Up For Annual Oahe Days
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The Pierre Parks Department getting ready for the city’s annual community celebration.
Steamboat Park will be bustling with thousands of people when Oahe Days starts of Friday. The music and arts festival runs through Sunday.
Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill tells KCCR-AM says that it takes a lot to make the park shine for Oahe Days.
Steamboat Park was one of the parks along the Missouri River that was damaged by major flooding in 2011. Gill says Pierre residents should take great pride in the restoration efforts that have been made since the flood.
Gill says extra efforts also are being done in the area this week to eliminate mosquitoes.
