Child Injured In Two-vehicle Crash Near Flandreau Dies
FLANDREAU, S.D. (AP) — A 7-year-old girl who was injured on Monday in a two-vehicle crash in Moody County has died.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Mariana Krempges, of Dell Rapids, died at a Sioux Falls hospital Tuesday.
The Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Joshua Krempges, of Flandreau, was driving a car that failed to yield at a rural intersection southeast of Flandreau and collided with a pickup truck about 7 a.m. Monday.
Joshua Krempges and 11-year-old passenger Madyson Barbee, of Dell Rapids, died at the scene. Mariana Krempges, another 7-year-old and an 11-year-old from Dell Rapids who also were in the car were taken to a Sioux Falls hospital after suffering what authorities said were life-threatening injuries.
The lone person in the pickup suffered minor injuries.
