DENR Reminds Irrigators To Only Use Water On Permitted Land
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources says irrigators must remember to only spray water on land authorized for irrigation under their water permit.
The department reminded irrigators Thursday that they can’t waste water or spray it on land not covered by their permit.
Department Secretary Steve Pirner says that irrigation overspray can harm roads and create unsafe driving conditions, among other effects.
The department says irrigation systems should be constantly monitored.
