Fugitive And Bank Robbery Suspect Caught In Minnesota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Authorities have caught a man who walked away from a minimum-security prison in South Dakota and is suspected of robbing three banks in Minnesota.

KSTP-TV reports ( ) that 46-year-old Clint Eldeen was arrested early Wednesday in Prior Lake, Minnesota.

Eldeen was last seen leaving the minimum-security unit of the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls on Friday night. He’s been named as a suspect in the robbery of a Bremer Bank early Saturday in Roseville, Minnesota, a St. Paul suburb.

Police in Richfield, Minnesota, say a man who robbed two banks in that city Tuesday afternoon matched Eldeen’s description. Officers chased the suspect but lost him.

Eldeen was serving 20 years in prison for no-account checks. He was sentenced in 2000.
