‘Indian Education Summit’ Slated At Capitol In Bismarck

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction’s second Indian Education Summit is slated at the state Capitol in Bismarck.

The two-day event begins Tuesday.

Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says the summit will feature students from a Lakota language immersion class and keynote speeches from top federal Indian education officials.

A group of high school and college students from Bismarck, Selfridge and Fort Yates in North Dakota and McLaughlin and Little Eagle in South Dakota will hold a panel discussion on Tuesday.
