Prayer Vigil Held In Dell Rapids For 3 Victims Of Car Crash
DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (AP) — Hundreds of people gathered in Dell Rapids to mourn the deaths of three people including two children in a car crash.
The Monday night vigil was for 38-year-old Joshua Krempges, his 7-year-old daughter, Mariana Krempges, and her 11-year-old friend, Madyson Barbee.
The three died July 13 in a crash near Flandreau that put two of Joshua Krempges’ other daughters in the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The Highway Patrol says Joshua Krempges was driving a car that failed to yield at a rural intersection and collided with a pickup truck.
Participants in the vigil wrote messages on balloons, lit candles and prayed. Shirts were sold to raise money for the two families.
About 3,700 people live in Dell Rapids.
