SDSU Extension To Host Garden Educator Class In Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State University Extension is offering a workshop this summer geared toward teachers and other youth educators interested in learning about garden education programs.

The workshop is scheduled for Aug. 4 at the West River Ag Center in Sioux Falls. The training will provide teachers hands-on lesson plan ideas and nutrition resources for a school garden, information on growing vegetables and stories from area garden projects.

The classes are designed for teachers, after-school program leaders and other educators working with Pre-K through middle school teachers.

Participants will also discuss resources available to promote children’s consumption of fruits and vegetables.

Registration and a $25 payment are due July 31.
