School Of Mines Student Arrested After Dorm Room Raid
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A student at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City is facing charges after authorities raided his dorm room.
Police say they found various drugs including cocaine and marijuana in the room of 19-year-old Tyler Prins of Foxfield, Colorado. They also searched his vehicle and say they found a semiautomatic pistol, a .22-caliber rifle and an AR-15 rifle.
Prins is charged with distribution/manufacture of a controlled drug and ingestion of a controlled substance. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney, and a telephone listing for him couldn’t be found.
Authorities say the raid by a drug enforcement team Friday was part of an ongoing investigation.
