SD 4-H Youth Council Selects Make-A-Wish For Service Project
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State 4-H Youth Council has selected the state’s chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation as the recipient of its annual community service project.
Audrey Rider with the South Dakota State University Extension says youth in counties across South Dakota will be collecting cash donations throughout 2016 with the goal of raising between $5,000 and $6,000 for the foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes of children with life-threating medical conditions. The amount that the 4-H Youth Council hopes to raise would be enough to grant one wish for a child in South Dakota.
Rider says the county that raises the most money will receive a prize.
The 4-H Youth Council is a statewide leadership team made up of 25 4-H participants who were chosen for their leadership abilities.
