8 million. The lowest construction bid was $14.6 million.
Superintendent Joe Graves tells The Daily Republic ( ) that officials are still determining what to do. But he says the planned opening of the facility in the fall of 2016 is now in jeopardy.
The proposed 65,000-square-foot center would be on the southwest corner of the Mitchell Career and Technical Education Academy. It would seat 1,240 people in its main theater. It also would have a smaller black box theater, classrooms, and space for rehearsals and storage.
