Eagle Butte Man Gets 7 Months In Custody, Supervised Release

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A South Dakota man who has been convicted of assaulting his romantic partner and knocking out another man who intervened in one of their arguments has been sentenced to seven months in custody.

Acting U.S. Attorney Randy Seiler announced Thursday that Julius Titus III’s time in custody will also be followed by 18 months of supervised release.

Titus, 35, was convicted of assault that resulted in the substantial injury of an intimate partner and assault by striking, beating and wounding.

Authorities say Titus, of Eagle Butte, hit a man in the face after he intervened in a June 2014 argument between Titus and his partner.

Officials say Titus also pushed his partner, which caused her to injure her ankle.
