Police Say Mobridge Woman’s Child Fell From 3-story Window
MOBRIDGE, S.D. (AP) — A Mobridge woman whose 2-year-old child allegedly fell from a three-story window has been charged with felony child abuse.
Twenty-seven-year-old Irene Thompson also faces a misdemeanor charge of contributing to the abuse, neglect or delinquency of a minor.
Mobridge police investigator Al Bohle says that someone walking by found the child outside on the gravel-covered ground beneath an apartment window on Wednesday. It’s unknown how long the child had been there.
The American News reports (http://bit.ly/1T9KtZ9) that authorities found the child with “injuries conducive to a fall, which included a broken arm.
Thompson is being held at the Walworth County Jail.
It’s unclear whether Thompson has an attorney.
