ND Regulators Holding Work Session On Proposed Pipeline

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s Public Service Commission is holding an informal work session on a $3.8 million pipeline from western North Dakota to Illinois.

The three-member panel recently completed public hearings in Mandan, Killdeer and Williston on the Dakota Access project, which is the biggest-capacity pipeline proposed to date to move North Dakota crude.

The PSC will talk about the project on Monday. No action is expected but the panel might signal its intentions on whether the project may proceed over the objections of several landowners.

Almost 360 miles of the pipeline would pass through North Dakota. It also would go through South Dakota and Iowa on its way to Illinois.

The pipeline’s path in North Dakota would cross beneath the Little Missouri River once and the Missouri River twice.
