SD Man Sentenced To 90 Days In Prison For Raping Child
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A Sioux Falls man has been sentenced to 90 days in prison for raping a girl younger than 16.
The Argus Leader reports ( ) 22-year-old Tyler Lee Schlotman was sentenced Thursday on one count of fourth-degree rape and one count of sexual contact with a child under 16.
For the rape charge, Schlotman’s full sentence was eight years, with all but 90 days suspended on the condition that he no longer has sexual contact with underage girls.
He also received an eight-year sentence for the sexual contact charge that was suspended on the same conditions.
Judge Robin Houwman told Schlotmen that the 90-day prison sentence was meant to be a “reminder of what could possibly happen” if he violated the conditions of his suspended sentence.
