Man Sentenced For Burglarizing County Government Building

PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — One of four people who authorities say broke into a Todd County government building in Mission last fall has been sentenced to nearly a year in prison.

Authorities say 19-year-old Preston White Feather, of Mission, along with a woman and two juveniles broke into the building last August and stole property, including guns from the county sheriff’s office.

The group also caused damage to the building.

Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler says White Feather pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced recently to 11 months in custody, four months in a halfway house and two years on supervised probation. He and the others also must pay more than $8,600 in restitution.
