Farms In The Dakotas Have High Rate Of Computer Access

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — The percentage of farms with access to computers is slightly higher in the Dakotas than in the nation as a whole.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Wednesday said 78 percent of North Dakota farms and 75 percent of South Dakota farms have computer access, higher than the national average of 73 percent.

Department statistics also show internet access at farms in the Dakotas has increased since the last time this data was collected in 2013.

The USDA says 75 percent of farms in North Dakota have internet access, up 2 percent from two years ago. The rate of internet access is South Dakota is also 75 percent, up 3 percent from the previous survey.
