Sheep Growers To Gather Next Month In Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — The state’s sheep growers plan to gather in Rapid City next month.
The South Dakota Sheep Growers Association 78th Annual Convention begins Friday, September 25, with tours of several area facilities. Seminars during the following Saturday at the Best Western Ramkota will be led by speakers from the sheep industry, universities and sheep organizations. Topics include the new Veterinary Feed Directive, managing internal parasites, H2A workers and research updates.
South Dakota Agriculture Secretary Lucas Lentsch, state Game, Fish and Parks Secretary Kelly Hepler and USDA Under Secretary of Agriculture Edward Avalos are scheduled to appear.
Master Lamb Producer awards and highlights will be presented during Saturday’s luncheon, and Trapper of the Year and Shepherd’s Award will be announced during the Saturday evening banquet.
