Wife: Harrisburg Principal Who Was Shot Is Resting At Home

HARRISBURG, S.D. (AP) — The wife of Harrisburg’s high school principal says Kevin Lein isn’t likely to miss much time from school after being shot in the arm by a student.

Amy Lein tells the Argus Leader newspaper ( ) that her husband was discharged from the hospital after a short stay Wednesday and returned home to rest. She says he wasn’t immediately ready to talk publically about the incident.

Authorities say Lein suffered a minor flesh wound to his arm after a struggle with a male student Wednesday morning on the school campus. The student was subdued by other school officials and no one else was hurt.

Students say Lein took to the intercom moments after being shot to announce a lockdown and tell them he had been hit but was fine.
