Prosecutor: Student Charged In School Shooting Had 1 Gun

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Lincoln County’s lead prosecutor says a teenage student charged with attempted murder in the shooting of Harrisburg’s high school principal was armed with a single handgun.

The Argus Leader reports ( ) that the disclosure by State’s Attorney Tom Wollman ends speculation about how heavily armed 16-year-old Mason Buhl was when he allegedly shot Principal Kevin Lein on Sept. 30, leaving Lein with a flesh wound.

Buhl is being held without bond. He’s scheduled to enter pleas on Oct. 26 to the attempted murder charge and a weapons count.
